Ann Henry is a Partner in Bird & Bird's Dublin office, consistently ranked as a "Leading Individual" in Dispute Resolution in Ireland.

She has successfully led some of Ireland's most complex Commercial Court cases in both patent litigation, including the landmark Apixaban proceedings, and data privacy, including Schrems II. Her IP practice spans the full spectrum of intellectual property disputes, including patents, trade marks and copyright, with a sectoral focus that reflects Ireland's FDI economy: pharmaceutical, technology, retail and financial services.

Ann is a co-founder of the Data Protection and Intellectual Property Committee of the Law Society of Ireland, and served as its Chair from 2016 to 2018, coinciding with the introduction of GDPR. She was appointed by the Government to the Data Forum, which sat in the Department of An Taoiseach and considered data-related issues relevant to Ireland's digital economy, and served on the steering committee for the inaugural Dublin Data Summit held at the National Convention Centre in 2017.

Her contentious data privacy practice encompasses regulatory disputes, including judicial reviews, statutory appeals and prosecutions, as well as advising clients on the downstream consequences of data breaches, including investigations, commercial litigation and reputation management.
Ann is valued by clients for her sharp focus on litigation strategy, her resilience throughout proceedings, and her determination to deliver results.
