As a German and European Patent Attorney, Robert's particular technical expertise lies in applied physics (e.g. semiconductor physics, medical technology), telecommunications, electronics, mechanics, and computer-implemented inventions (software).

Besides substantial prosecution work, Robert particularly focuses on the representation of clients in complex patent litigation. In this context, he is frequently involved in opposition and appeal proceedings before the German and European Patent Office, nullity proceedings before the German Federal Patent Court and the German Federal Supreme Court of Justice, and the parallel infringement proceedings. He has extensive experience in intensive cross border litigation and multi-patent battles, both on the offensive and defensive side.

Robert's technical background is in the study of physics at Julius-Maximilians-Universität of Würzburg, Rutgers University of New Jersey, USA, and Freie Universität of Berlin. He holds a Master of Science degree from Rutgers University as well as a Ph.D. in physics from Freie Universität of Berlin; he conducted his Ph.D. work at the Helmholtz-Centre Berlin for Materials and Energy (HZB).
