Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe made news with another set of laterals joining the firm’s newly-opened Boston office this week. The firm brought in former Fish & Richardson partners David Hosp, Mark Puzella, Sheryl Garko and Caroline Simons to its Boston IP group, in addition to New York hire Elizabeth Brenckman, also from Fish. The attorneys have experience in copyright, trademark and trade secrets litigation.

This lateral news was announced in light of another spree of attorney hires by Orrick last month, bringing in four Ropes & Gray data and cybersecurity partners to help launch the Boston office: Doug Meal, Heather Egan Sussman, Michelle Visser and Seth Harrington. The firm’s recent pattern of IP-related hires extends to last year’s high-profile recruitment of patent litigator Jared Bobrow from Weil Gotshal & Manges, copyright attorney Paul Fakler from Arent Fox, and patent litigator Clement Roberts from Durie Tangri.

Orrick currently holds national rankings for trademark litigation, patent litigation, copyright and ITC litigation. Fifteen of the firm’s partners are listed as IP Stars, four of which include attorney hires mentioned above.
