Tal Band is the Chair of the Intellectual Property Practice Group at S. Horowitz & Co., and a member of the firm's executive board. With close to 40 years of experience under his belt and numerous achievements in all facets of his career, Tal is without a doubt one of Israel's most prominent IP attorneys.
Tal represents high-profile local and foreign clients in complex litigation aimed at protecting their know-how and trade secrets, as well as other patents, trademarks and copyright issues, before the Israeli civil courts and the Israel Patent Office (IPO). Tal also represents Israeli clients with global operations across multiple jurisdictions, in close cooperation with leading litigators in the UK, the United States and worldwide. His clients are leading players in the pharmaceuticals, life sciences, medical devices, telecommunications, media, defence, manufacturing and retail sectors.
Tal served as President of the Israel Chapter of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights (AIPPI) from 2004 until 2016. He was a member of various public committees of experts appointed by the Government of Israel to review legislation in various fields, in particular the Law Revision Committees overseeing the patent and trademark laws, application of the TRIPS agreement into Israeli law, practice and legal proceedings before the IPO, and the Standards Law. Tal played a key role in negotiations with the United States Trade Representative on the scope of IP protection in Israel.
