Maral Büyükkürkçü is a senior associate and she has been working for the firm since 2012. Her practice focuses on life sciences and intellectual property with special focus on patents, utility models and trademarks.
Maral represents clients before the Civil Courts for Industrial and Intellectual Property Rights and Commercial Courts on the matters related to the invalidation, infringement and unfair competition actions filed regarding patents, utility models, trademarks, provides legal opinion and advisory on the same and supports her clients in the application and opposition procedures before the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office. Maral also advises her clients on alternative dispute resolution methods, preparation of settlement and license agreements.
Maral provides legal opinions in relation to the patent law to clients in patent disputes that have an international dimension. She has previously represented international companies in complex patent disputes that have no precedent in Turkish Law. In particular, she develops strategies related to patent law and provides consultancy in these fields. In disputes related to patent law, Maral also represents clients in examination of marketing authorisation dossiers before the Ministry of Health.
