Harry is a partner in the firm’s Tech & Engineering group. Having spent many years based in the US, Harry particularly focusses on high value European patent issues for US companies. He previously ran the firm’s US liaison offices in San Francisco and Boston, giving Harry an unusually high understanding of the IP market in the US and the issues that really matter to US companies.

With a masters degree in physics, Harry’s practice spans many technologies. In particular, his work focuses on consumer goods, software and autonomous driving for companies based near our US liaison offices. This unique connection with US clients allows Harry to know his clients personally and collaborate closely on business-critical IP issues.

Harry’s core legal expertise lies in freedom to operate analysis for US companies looking to expand into Europe. This requires a keen understanding of the differences between US and European IP protection – a lens that Harry applies readily given his significant time at Kilburn & Strode in both jurisdictions – and a talent for explaining and navigating those differences. In fast-paced industries, clients turn to Harry for infringement advice critical to their
business and a direct and pragmatic communication style.

Harry also spearheaded the firm’s creation of the European Patent Pipeline Program – a program with the core goal of widening access to the patent profession. His determined focus on this issue is shown by the program’s significant growth year on year, now involving many firms and companies across the UK.
