Marco regularly drafts and prosecutes patent applications for a variety of clients across many engineering fields including controls, robotics, electric aviation, telematics, digital manufacturing, industry 4.0, electrical and fastmoving consumer goods and medical devices (with particular expertise in inhalers, injectors, wearable health, surgical instruments and combination products).

Marco also provides pre- and post- drafting/prosecution services such as: invention identification, harvesting and commercial impact assessment; patent infringement and validity opinions; patent portfolio building & management; and, IP due diligence. He also regularly attends oral proceedings at the EPO, including oppositions and appeals.

Finally, Marco is also frequently present in academic, legal, institutional and pro-bono circles. He regularly promotes IP within the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the UK and supports TechItalia:Lab, an accelerator for Italian start-ups in the UK. In 2015, Marco was recognised as a Talented Young Italian operating in the services industry in the UK, and as a result he is now a permanent mentor of the Talented Italians Association in the UK (TIUK). Since 2023, Marco acts as an Expert Reviewer for the World Food Forum’s Transformative Research Challenge, the flagship youth-based innovation programme enabled by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). He is also a judge on behalf of CIPA in connection with the prestigious Earthshot Prize, presented by the British Royal Foundation. He also collaborates with the European Patents Institute (epi), recently as part of an expert panel on the Doctrine of Equivalents in different European jurisdictions, and as a collaborator on initiatives related to the quality and harmonisation of patenting practices across Europe. He is also active within the internal committees of CIPA, the British body representing the patent attorney profession.
