At Walker Morris, our success as a business depends on the wellbeing of our people, clients and our communities, and we must play our part in tackling society’s biggest challenges.
Our ESG Steering Committee is made up of our Managing Partner, General Counsel, Head of Facilities, Marketing & BD Director and a partner. They meet every month, and their activity and recommendations are a standing Board agenda item. Our Positive Impact Report, which we produce every year and publish on our website, focuses on continuous improvement by setting out what we plan to do in the coming year. This holds us publicly accountable, the ambitions in the report form our ESG Steering Committee's agenda.
Our ESG approach involves balancing the interests of our clients ,colleagues, suppliers, the local community and relevant regulatory bodies – and focuses on three key areas:
1. Environmental sustainability, minimising our impact on the environment, reducing our carbon emissions, and working with others to promote climate action and the transition to a net zero economy.
2. Promoting a diverse, inclusive and supportive working environment, which offers professional and development opportunities to all our people and contributes to the wellbeing of our local communities.
3. The highest standards of governance, compliance and responsible, ethical business practices.
We also help our clients with their own programmes for ESG, renewable energy and net zero projects and responsible business. Our energy lawyers help clients deliver renewable energy, energy efficiency and low carbon projects.
