Rising Stars

Welcome to the first official edition of Managing Intellectual Property Rising Stars. Each year IP STARS research analysts receive and analyse a lot of information on law firms and practitioners that provide IP services. Traditionally, the individual listings in IP STARS only featured senior IP practitioners. Following market feedback, we decided to launch this special publication to enable us focus on some of the best up-and-coming IP practitioners below partner level who contribute to the success of their firms and clients.

This year’s publication is based on the information obtained during the research period for the 2018 edition of IP STARS (September 2017 to February 2018). Rising stars typically have less than 10 years post-qualification experience but individuals with over 10 years of experience may also be considered. The Rising Stars publication complements our annual Corporate IP Stars list (for in-house IP practitioners) and Top 250 Women in IP list (the leading female IP practitioners in private practice).

There may be individuals in this edition who have left their firms or who were promoted to partner after they were selected for listing. The IP practice profiles and updates on listed practitioners and firms are made available on this website. Please note that some firms have more rising stars than others, and a firm’s ranking in IP STARS is irrelevant. This publication is subject to change each year. IP STARS research is conducted rigorously and impartially. No firm or individual can pay to be ranked or to influence the results. There is no fee to participate in the research. More information about our research and methodology can be found here.

There are other talented and hardworking young IP practitioners who also deserve recognition in some way. We hope to expand and enhance this publication in the future. If you have any suggestions or feedback concerning this publication please send them to research@managingip.com
