Radcliffe, who was formerly with Charles Russell Speechlys, joins as partner in its IP Group in London. Radcliffe has practised IP for many years, focusing on patent disputes across a range of technical fields. This move will strengthen Reed Smith’s UK IP practice, particularly patent litigation. The UPC seems to be the motivation. Head of European IP Group and IP Star Marina Cousté said: “Anette Gärtner’s arrival to our German practice last year was a significant step. Now, with Jonathan joining us in London, we are in an even stronger position to offer a truly European IP capability to our clients in Munich, Paris and London, the principal locations for the forthcoming Unified Patent Court."

Reed Smith is currently ranked for trade mark contentious and copyright work in the UK and patent contentious work in France.
