Managing IP has published the shortlists for the 2017 North America (US and Canada) and Global (Asia, EMEA and Latin America) Awards. This year’s awards dinner will be held at The Savoy Hotel in London on March 9 (for Global) and on March 23 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Washington DC (for North America). Trophies will be presented to the winners at the event.

Congratulations to all those shortlisted.

The awards

The shortlists have been chosen by our team of research analysts, with guidance from Managing IP editorial team. They are based on information from our research for the 2017 edition of IP Stars.

For most jurisdictions we have one award category, Firm of the Year, but there are some with more than one award to reflect our rankings. We also have special and regional awards. The award categories we have vary each year.

The methodology

The awards recognise outstanding achievements in the past 12 months. Researcher analysts take into account firm submissions, market feedback and publicly available information. They look for distinctive work highlights, especially significant client matters and their impact, and other notable achievements or activities including business growth.

Any firm, regardless of tier ranking, can be shortlisted for or win an award. J
ust like our rankings, firms cannot self-nominate or seek to influence the decision-making process. To find out more about our methodology click here.

Managing IP will publish further information about the awards in March and May.
