Florida firms Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough and Broad and Cassel finalised their merger in August 2018. The combined firm, operating as Nelson Mullins Broad and Cassel, has over 725 attorneys across 11 states and the District of Columbia. This will feature a litigation practice with more than 400 attorneys.
Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton hires patent litigation partner
Mansi Shah joined Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton's Silicon Valley patent litigation team. Mansi has over a decade of IP experience, managing complex patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret litigation.
Fitzpatrick Cella Harper & Scinto agree to join Venable
In August 2018, Venable announced that it acquired Fitzpatrick Cella Harper & Scinto. The acquisition of Fitzpatrick, an IP boutique, will boost Venable’s IP practice. The firm will now have around 175 IP lawyers nationally, making it one of the largest IP practices in the county. The merger is expected to complete in November 2018.
Kacvinsky Daisak Bluni hired five IP lawyers
Kacvinsky Daisak Bluni welcomed five new lawyers in its offices in Boston, New York and Washington D.C. The most notable lawyer is Lindsay McGuiness who joined the Boston office from Hologic Inc, where she was chief IP counsel.
Michael Casey returns to Oblon
Patent attorney Michael Casey rejoined Oblon McClelland Maier & Neustadt as partner after spending 13 years at Davidson Berquist Jackson & Gowdey. Casey has more than 20 years of experience in patent protection, focusing on computer technology, software and telecommunications.

Santiago Ortuzar, the former president of the Chilean Association of Intellectual Property, has joined Alessandri as a partner. Prior to joining Alessandri, Ortuzar was a partner at Beuchat Barros & Pfenniger.

Maucher Jenkins plans China expansion
