Potter Clarkson moves into a new London office

Potter Clarkson has relocated to a new office in London to accommodate its growing IP team. Earlier this year the firm strengthened its disputes and licensing practice by hiring partner Mark Kramer and senior associate Mark Nichols.

 

Casalonga welcomes beverage IP specialist

Casalonga has appointed wine and spirits law expert Theodore Georgopoulos as the director of its Wine, Spirits & Terroirs department. Georgopoulos also serves as the President of the International Wine Law Association.

 

Crowell & Moring hires copyright specialist

Crowell & Moring welcomed copyright specialist Sari Depreeuw as a partner in its IP/TMT practice. Depreeuw joined from Daldewolf, where she co-led the IP/digital team. Counsel Gunther Meyer left Crowell & Moring in October to join Liber.ius as a partner.

 

Aequo announces several promotions

Aequo promoted IP practitioners Nataliya Dryuk and Tetiana Kudrytska to the position of partner. Dryuk and Kudrytska co-head the firm’s IP department.

Carmen Castellano has established a new IP boutique called Castellano IP. Castellano was previously with law firm acuminis, which has ceased operations.

 

Spanish IP Star and co-founder passes away

ABG Intellectual Property co-founder Francisco Bernardo Noriega passed away on October 31, according to the firm’s press release on November 2. Noriega was ranked as a patent star for many years and headed the PharmaMar patent department before founding ABG Patentes in 2003. Our condolences go out to Noriega's family, colleagues, and friends.

 

Dentons gets a new IP partner in Milan

Federico Fusco has joined Dentons as a partner in its IP/technology practice. Fusco was previously a counsel at Hogan Lovells’ Milan office.  He was featured in the 2021 edition of Managing IP’s Rising Stars publication.

 

Murgitroyd continues expansion with new acquisition

Murgitroyd has acquired the long-established UK patent and trade mark attorney firm UDL Intellectual Property. This follows its acquisition of the Irish patent attorney firm Hanna Moore + Curley.

 

Deloitte hires head of trade marks

Deloitte Legal has brought in Jade MacIntyre to lead its trade mark department. MacIntyre joined from Allen & Overy, where she was a senior trade mark attorney.

Bruchou Fernández Madero & Lombardi has recruited Alejandro Barrientos as a partner in its IP/technology practice. Barrientos was previously with Cavelier Abogados.

 

Fleckman & McGlynn merged with Munck Wilson Mandala

Fleckman & McGlynn has combined with Munck Wilson Mandala. The merger added five IP practitioners to Munck Wilson Mandala: partners John Cain, Melissa LaBauve, and Andrew McKeon; principal attorney Jason Blair and of counsel Bill Raman.

 

Collen IP joins Rothwell Figg

Rothwell Figg Ernst & Manbeck has combined with New York-based IP firm Collen IP. The combined firm now has offices in Washington, D.C., New York, and Boston. The leaders of Collen IP are best known for trade mark work.
