Anjie Law Firm and Broad & Bright Law Firm officially merge

Chinese law firms Anjie Law Firm and Broad & Bright Law Firm have now merged to form Anjie & BB Law Firm, a combination that became effective on January 1. The newly established firm will have offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Hong Kong SAR, Haikou and Nanjing.

 

Jones Day names new partner-in-charge for Melbourne office

Lisa Taliadoroshas been named the new partner-in-charge of Jones Day's Melbourne office. Taliadoros has led the IP practice in Australia since 2018 and will succeed Tim L’Estrange. Taliadoros specialises in IP disputes.

Ulrike Herr joins Maiwald as partner

European patent attorney Ulrike Herr joined German firm Maiwald as a partner on February 1. Herr, who was previously with Isenbruck Bösl Hörschler, specialises in pharmaceuticals and chemistry patent work.

 

Kilburn & Strode hires a partner in the Netherlands

Kilburn & Strode welcomed European patent attorney Frodo Ferro as a partner in its Dutch office. Ferro was previously an in-house IP counsel and director at Hoffmann Eitle in Amsterdam.

 

Campbell Forsyth joins Mishcon de Reya as partner

Mishcon de Reya has announced the addition of patent litigator Campbell Forsyth as a new partner in its London office. Forsyth will strengthen the firm's patent litigation practice. Forsyth was previously with Dentons.

 

Oslo Patentkontor merges with AWA

Norwegian firm Oslo Patentkontor officially merged with AWA on March 1, signaling AWA’s growth in the Scandinavian region. Carsten Lous will continue to lead the operations for AWA in Norway. Lous started his patent attorney career in 1999 at Oslo Patentkontor.

 

Turnstone shuts down

Dutch IP firm Turnstone ceased its operations in December 2021. As a result of the closure, Merel Kamp joined NLO; Michiel Haegens joined Leeway; and Peter van der Wees set up a new IP firm called Markedly. 

 

Lara Dorigo joins Pestalozzi

Pestalozzi hired IP Star Lara Dorigo to lead its IP & TMT department. Dorigo, who joined from Lenz & Staehelin, brings over two decades of experience in IP to the firm.

 

Lavoix opens Swiss office

French IP firm Lavoix opened a new office in Lausanne, Switzerland. The new office will be run by the firm’s European patent attorney Maxim Kuzmin.

 

Former Noerr partners create a new Russian firm

Noerr has sold its Russian legal practice to its former partners who formed a new firm called Arno Legal. The partners include IP lawyers Viktor Gerbutov and Vyacheslav Khayryuzov. Both firms have agreed to cooperate on client matters.
