Shannon Fahy is a Senior Associate in the commercial disputes and investigations team at Browne Jacobson’s Dublin office, specialising in intellectual property. She advises both domestic and international clients across a range of sectors on all aspects of contentious and non-contentious IP, encompassing trade mark protection and brand enforcement, patent infringement, copyright, passing off, IP portfolio management, and IP due diligence for corporate transactions.

Shannon is the Ireland-based representative for the wider Browne Jacobson food and drink sector team. In addition to food and drink manufacturers, Shannon's IP practice spans a broad range of IP-intensive sectors, including entertainment and media, design, pharmaceutical and life sciences, medical and healthcare, AI technology and biotechnology, and technology start-ups. She also brings IP expertise to clients in the engineering, manufacturing, automotive, and hospitality sectors.
Alongside her IP practice, Shannon has broad commercial disputes experience and regularly acts in proceedings before the Superior Courts in Ireland, including the Commercial Division of the High Court. This wider litigation background strengthens her ability to advise on IP enforcement strategy and to navigate complex, multi-issue disputes.

Shannon also advises social media clients as well as businesses using such platforms, in relation to takedown requests and injunctions, primarily in the context of IP infringement and defamation claims. She is well-versed in the workings of the Digital Services Act and how it impacts intermediary service providers. Shannon has well-rounded knowledge on how to assess takedown requests received by intermediary service providers, having previously worked in-house as a secondee for one of the world's largest social media companies.

Shannon is a qualified solicitor in Ireland, having been admitted to the roll in 2021. She is also a registered Trade Mark Agent in Ireland and a registered representative at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).
