Jana Traplová is an attorney-at-law and managing partner at Traplová Hakr Kubát Law & Patent Offices (THK). In her role as managing partner at THK she shares in the responsibility of managing THK as a whole, as well as its day-to-day activities. She is responsible for all IP and legal issues.
Together with her team, she works with companies of various sizes and advises on all aspects related to intellectual property, the enforcement and protection of IP rights and all related matters in the Czech and Slovak Republic.
Her key areas of practice cover all issues related to the intellectual property protection, enforcement as well as litigation and prosecution in various fields of IP law (trademarks, copyright and designs). Ms. Traplova's services include brand and design protection strategies, opinion and legal advice of IP protection and searches as well as managing IP portfolios. She is also involved in customs proceedings, counterfeit and forgery cases, domain name issues and licensing agreements. She also specializes in unfair competition and copyright law cases.
Ms. Traplová main cases include representation her clients before the Czech Intellectual Property Office, EUIPO, WIPO as well as before Czech courts and administrative authorities.
Ms Traplová regularly attends international conferences and she is a member of a number of professional organizations, such as the Czech Bar Association, the Czech Lawyers Union and the Czech branch of the International League of Competition Law. Further, she is a member of the IINTA, as well as other international bodies connected with her specialization, including ECTA (as a member of the Committee for the Fight Against Counterfeiting), MARQUES and the Czech branch of the Licensing Executives Society.
In past years was Ms. Traplová repeatedly listed as one of the Top 250 Women in IP.
