Henry C.W. Hong is the founder, owner and chairman of Top Team International Patent and Trademark Office; a registered Taiwan patent attorney and a register mechanical engineer. He has practiced in the intellectual property industry for over 35 years and owns insightful knowledge and extensive experience in patent and trademark prosecution in domestic and international jurisdictions.
Mr. Hong specializes in operations management, litigation support, patent strategy development, and patent prosecution. He often provides consultation for high-tech companies, especially in Taiwan and Japan, to assist with protecting their innovations and managing patent rights. The elite team he has built is highly recognized for its work ethic and service quality.
Mr. Hong is also a proactive and involved member of Taiwan Patent Attorney Association” (TWPAA) where he was the first chairperson of the Patent Committee and Japanese Affair Committee and one of the standing councilor on the Board of Directors from 2015 to 2018. He is also a member of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA), the International Trademark Association (INTA), and the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI).
Mr. Hong received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the National Taiwan University and his master’s degree in industrial mechanical engineering from the University of Tokyo. He also completed the law program of continuing education at the College of Law and Business, National Chung-Hsin University. In 2016, he was appointed as an adjunct professor of the Kenneth Wang School of Law at Soochow University where he continues to provide his expertise.
Outside of patent law, Mr. Hong endeavors to support the community at large. He established the Hong Shui Shu Charity Foundation in 2016. The foundation is named after his grandfather. The underlying purpose is to contribute to society; more specifically, to help support disadvantaged families and support local welfare organizations.
