Clare is Global Head of IP and Life Sciences at Pinsent Masons.
Clare regularly leads multi-jurisdictional teams and the culture of innovation she has fostered has been credited with delivering competitive advantage to her clients. With over 20 years' experience of acting exclusively for clients in the Life Sciences sector, she is recognized across the industry for her exceptional experience in multi-jurisdictional patent and SPC actions. Having led teams in more than 30 patent trials before the UK courts (including several before the Supreme Court) as well as the CJEU, Clare is considered "the doyenne" of patent litigation. She has an unrivalled track record for success in the UK as well as considerable experience of coordinating multiple patent actions across Europe.
Clare is consistently recognized as one of the Global Top 250 women by IP Stars, was featured in Managing Intellectual Property's Top 250 Women in IP (2019) and was the exclusive winner of the Client Choice Award for Intellectual Property - Patents Category, for the UK in 2018. She was also recently named in The Lawyer's "Hot 100" for her work in the Life Sciences sector. The IP team Clare leads also has a reputation for being one of the best in the UK winning Contentious Patent Law Firm of the Year (England & Wales) at the Managing IP Global Awards in 2020 as well as "Impact Case of the Year" in both 2019 and 2020.
