Christine De Keersmaeker is a highly experienced lawyer in Intellectual Property. She has over 30 years of experience in IP strategy, helping clients to design a strategy on growing their immaterial assets, covering all fields of IP law including copyrights, trademarks, designs & models, patents, trade secrets or domain names and all business issues such as IP clearings, IP portfolio management worldwide, IP exploitation and monetization including licensing, co-branding, national and international co-productions, company & website IP audits. She has longstanding experience serving national and international clients in the film, TV, music, publishing, advertising sectors, and many other sectors whose clients are willing to grow their IP value (fashion, design, food & beverages, automotive, household utensil…).
She provides brand owners or owners ‘to be’ with strategic advice with regards to launching their products and services, new business projects and ideas in order to protect and maximize their intellectual property.
Christine has served in the Belgian Council for Intellectual Property for almost 16 years and is a third-party decider on Domain name disputes with the Belgian Center for Arbitration and Mediation. Alongside her legal work, Christine is a visiting professor at the Antwerp management School (AMS) in the Master for International Fashion Management as well as its summer school and has been a regular speaker and author on topics related to IP and Fashion, TV & film, Sports and image rights, advertising, IP & social media, 3D printing and virtual reality.
