Scott Roberts is a patent attorney and computer scientist working at BT. He specialises in information technology, cyber-security, artificial intelligence, blockchain and other digital technologies.
Scott currently serves as the President of the IP Federation representing IP intensive industry in the UK. Scott is also an ad personam member of the Standing Advisory Committee before the European Patent Office (SACEPO), is appointed as an industry representative to the UK Government Department of International Trade’s IP Thematic Working Group, and represents the Confederation of British Industry at the BUSINESSEUROPE Patents Working Group. Scott has been involved in the setting and marking of the European Qualifying Examination for Patent Attorneys for over 11 years, is an active participant in CIPA’s Computer Technology and European Patent Liaison Committees, and is a co-author of CIPA’s European Patents Handbook. Most recently, Scott founded and chairs a group of European industrial federations advancing global substantive patent law harmonisation.
