Sam Miller has been lead trial counsel in nearly 150 intellectual property cases throughout the United States. In the last year alone, he obtained a trial verdict of inequitable conduct that rendered an oil field patent unenforceable; successfully obtained an injunction in a false advertising case that resulted in the favorable settlement for a publicly-traded building products company against another publicly-traded company; and led a successful counter-attack against an international pet care company’s trade dress and patent infringement claims to obtain a remarkable settlement for his client based outside the United States.
Among other notable achievements, he developed and implemented the litigation strategy to shut down several defamatory stories about his client that recently had a billion-dollar IPO; obtained injunctions for a multi-million dollar endurance event company based in Brooklyn, New York; defended a publicly-traded manufacturer of cardiac devices in a patent infringement case; argued before the Federal Circuit regarding an appeal of a decision by PTAB; and managed the international trademark portfolio for a world-wide entity.
Prior to founding Miller Legal Partners PLLC, he was the chair of the intellectual property litigation team for a 700+ lawyer firm and a three-time chair of the Intellectual Property Section of the Tennessee Bar Association.
