Selma, who has 33 years’ experience in intellectual property, is a senior partner and leads the patent and life sciences and trademark departments. Selma has special expertise in life sciences and IP litigation and transactions and significant experience in advising major local and international clients on cross-border IP matters including both transactional consultancy and litigation. She has handled the IP and life sciences portfolios of multinational companies for almost three decades, and obtained precedential decisions in countless cutting-edge court cases. She acts in a wide range of contentious matters, particularly those involving complex regulation. She advises companies on content and technology development and licensing, e-commerce, advertising and distribution. She also advises advertising agencies, television and radio broadcasters, social network operators, online retailers and consumer electronics manufacturers on legal clearance of advertisements, online gambling, labelling and packaging.
She is a qualified patent and trademark attorney, as well as a court-appointed expert before IP courts and the Commercial Court regarding IP and IT-related disputes. She is a domain name panellist before the World Intellectual Property Organisation and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Support Centre and a panellist for the Czech Arbitration Centre for Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy proceedings.
