John LeRoy’s practice focuses on complex patent, trade secret, and copyright litigation and is co-chair of Brooks Kushman’s patent litigation department. He has represented organizations in the software and electronic arts in litigation matters for nearly 20 years. Leveraging his extensive software litigation experience, John leads the firm’s FRAND licensing and Open Source Software audit and compliance practice.
John has extensive experience dealing with wireless technology and SEPs, leading to his “in the trenches” perspective of the disconnect between the SEP owners and standards adopters. John has successfully tried patent cases in federal courts nationwide and has successfully handled appeals before the Federal Circuit. John holds a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and is a licensed patent attorney.
