Fabian Wigger’s practice covers a wide range of contentious and non-contentious copyright, trademark, patent and other IP matters, particularly in the arts, media, sports and entertainment industries. He drafts and negotiates licence, distribution and cooperation agreements and specialises in collective rights management.

Mr Wigger studied law at the University of Zurich. He later worked as a research assistant for IP law at the same university, and pursued his research projects as a guest researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition in Munich.

After completing his studies, Mr Wigger became head of a licensing department at Switzerland’s largest collective management organisation, handling all aspects of the licensing of musical works to producers of sound and video carriers and online service providers. From 2011, Mr Wigger was a member of the IP practice group of a top-tier law firm in Zurich. He joined WEINMANN ZIMMERLI in 2015.

Mr Wigger frequently publishes and lectures on IP topics, particularly in Swiss and European copyright law. He lectures on IP law at the University of Zurich and at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences in Winterthur.
