Eleni Lappa is an expert on intellectual property law both in Greece and the EU, has a strong work background on international arbitration from her years in New York, with a particular focus on the legal frameworks governing franchising, distribution, and commercial agreements of international scope. She has completed legal studies and training in London, UK and North Carolina USA, and she has built her career at the intersection of law, innovation, and international business.

Her professional background includes advising clients on trademark prosecution, enforcement, and brand protection strategies, as well as representing parties in complex domain name disputes. She has also worked on commercial contracts and corporate structuring, with a growing specialization in franchise models and the challenges they present under Greek and EU law.

Eleni’s expertise extends beyond legal practice into thought leadership. She has contributed to publications and professional panels on topics such as digital innovation in dispute resolution, the evolving role of legal technology, and the interplay between intellectual property and commercial expansion strategies. With a deep understanding of both domestic legislation and the harmonized EU framework, she offers practical insights on franchising regulations, disclosure requirements, and contractual balance between franchisors and franchisees.

Fluent in Greek and English, and with professional experience across multiple jurisdictions, Eleni combines local expertise with an international outlook. She is particularly interested in how new technologies, arbitration mechanisms, and cross-border investment trends shape the future of franchising and brand development. Her commitment is to help businesses grow while remaining compliant, innovative, and resilient in an increasingly competitive global market.

  • Infringement of luxury goods with a stake of approximately 300.000 Euros we were able to stop the infringement by investigating and raiding the premises and initiating legal action which was then settled out of court with a profitable outcome for the client.
  • Trade dress issue involving an infringer who claimed use based rights for a high-profile entertainment venue - we were able to strop the infringement on the spot by settling the matter with the infringer although he had already invested a considerable amount on the lookalike - the client benefitted on several levels from the outcome which include, avoidance of legal costs for court proceedings, setting an example in the market and deterring other infringers and re-establishment of its trademark rights that were susceptible to cancellation for non-use.
  • Huge sports event with ambush marketing issue resolved within 24 hours - the client saved a considerable amount of penalty fees to its sponsors.
