Bartosz Krakowiak is a Polish patent and trademark attorney, European Patent Attorney and professional representative before the EU Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). He is also a registered representative before the Unified Patent Court (UPC).
He joined POLSERVICE in 2002; between 2006 and 2018 he was deputy manager of the trademark department and leader of the legal team, and in December 2018 he took up a position on the firm’s Management Board.
Mr. Krakowiak specializes in trademark and design registration, maintenance, licensing and protection, as well as unfair competition matters, including litigation and anti-counterfeiting actions. He is co-responsible for the Polish trademark portfolios of some of the world’s leading companies from all areas of business and also participates in patent-related disputes. He represents clients before the Polish Patent Office, EUIPO and the administrative, civil (IP) and arbitration courts. He also cooperates with customs, prosecution and enforcement authorities.
Since 2012, Mr. Krakowiak has been president of the Polish National Group of the Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI); in 2022 he was elected to the AIPPI Nominating Committee and he is also a longtime member of the AIPPI Standing Committee – Trademarks. In 2019-2021, he was a member of the Board of Directors of the International Trademark Association (INTA); he is a current member of the INTA Legislation and Regulation Committee – Europe and Central Asia Sub-committee (which he chaired in 2016-2019); previously, he chaired the INTA Anti-counterfeiting Committee (2014-2015) and its EU Sub-committee (2012-2013); in 2016 he was honored with the INTA Volunteer Service Award for the Advancement of Tradema
