Adré Pretorius is an attorney and a qualified trade mark practitioner, as well as a Notary Public. Her field of specialisation is trade mark prosecution generally in South Africa, the rest of Africa as well as internationally, including conducting trade mark availability searches, filing and prosecuting trade mark applications and attending to post-registration matters such as renewals and recordals of assignments and changes of client particulars.
Adré has a particular affinity for trade mark portfolio management, including conducting audits to ensure that clients’ trade mark portfolios are fully protected and advising on additional protection required by clients. Adré likes thinking outside the box to help clients find the most practical solutions to complex issues not only in South Africa, but also in the rest of Africa.
She has a keen interest in businesses and brands and therefore focuses on helping clients, whether large or small, local or international, ensure that their intellectual property, in particular trade marks and copyright, is effectively protected. Adré further provides advice regarding copyright matters and assists clients with the drafting of copyright acknowledgement and assignment agreements, as well as reviewing existing agreements to ensure compliance with the relevant laws.
