Laine IP Oy offers proficient and no-nonsense service in all IPR areas. Our services include preparation and prosecution of European patents, Finnish patents and U.S. patents. In addition, we provide prosecution of European and Finnish trademarks as well as IP consulting and in-house services.

Patents
Our European practice is especially strong including experienced European Patent Attorneys in all fields of technology. In addition, our in-house U.S. Patent Agents provide representation and patent prosecution services before the USPTO, direct from Helsinki, Finland.

Several of our patent attorneys frequently appear at oral proceedings before opposition and appeal boards and assist clients in litigations. For example, we have successfully assisted our multinational client in a plurality of complex patent infringement court proceedings at Finnish courts in the area of pharmaceutics and chemical technology. We represent clients directly before the EPO, USPTO, and the Finnish, Swedish, German and Austrian Offices in the following technology areas:

Chemistry and bioscience
Headed by Mr. Christoffer Sundman, the chemistry and bio team provides services in relation to inventions in the fields of, e.g., organic and inorganic chemistry, polymer technology, process engineering, paper and pulp manufacturing, mining technology, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, biotechnology, microbiology, and enzyme technology.

ICT and Electronics
Mr. Jussi Jaatinen leads our ICT and Electronics team. The team members possess significant experience in drafting and prosecuting inventions relating for instance to: communications systems, automation technology, embedded electronics, as well as IoT, user interfaces, 3d-printing, and consumer electronics.

Mechanics
Mr. Tatu Ahlskog is in charge of our Mechanics team, which specializes in mechanical inventions such as logistics equipment, drive trains, manufacturing, vibration control, construction and optics, as well as marine technology and material handling.

Trademarks and Designs
Led by Mr. Tom-Erik Hagelberg, our trademarks team offers personal and flexible service with years of experience and enthusiasm. Our services include trademark & design protection and prosecution both in Finland and internationally, trademark oppositions, infringement issues as well as IP related contracts.

We represent clients directly before the EUIPO, WIPO, the Finnish Trademarks Office, the Finnish Market Court, and the Finnish Supreme Administrative Court.

Other IPR services
We provide searches, clearances, analysis & opinions, including novelty searches, FTO analyses and patent landscape analyses. We also provide in-house consulting and training on IPR matters, such as advice on IPR strategy and IPR portfolio management.
