Established in Dubai in 2006, Cedar White Bradley (CWB) provides a full scope of intellectual property and related services in 22 countries throughout the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. CWB has offices in Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates (headquarter office) and also provides services in the broader region, including Afghanistan, Algeria, Iran, Iraq, Kurdistan, Kuwait, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, and Yemen. The firm has over 80 employees including 3 partners, over 30 lawyers, consultants, and paralegals, and over 40 support and operations staff.

  • We are structured into four main practices:
  • Trademarks & Copyright;
  • Patents & Designs;
  • Technology, Media & Entertainment; and
  • Anti-counterfeiting.

We work for a select group of large multinational clients that entrust us with their substantial portfolios throughout the region.

CWB’s Technology, Media & Entertainment (‘TME’) practice has grown rapidly since its establishment in January 2021. An impressive client roster includes leading regional and global brands in all sub-sectors of the media and entertainment industry, including content streaming platforms, major motion studios and independent producers, advertisers, and music publishers. Our team understands the way in which TME projects are developed, acquired, exploited, and commercialized. In addition, we assist clients from other industries in understanding the region’s regulatory landscape in areas such as advertising, data protection, social media, software licensing and music usage.

As for our Anti-counterfeiting practice, we have our own team of IP investigators working together with our lawyers and the local and regional authorities to gather intelligence and evidence, support police raids, file customs complaints, and initiate criminal proceedings. We have developed close relationships with the Dubai Police, Department of Economic Development, Customs, and the Public Prosecutor that allows us to coordinate actions before multiple enforcement authorities simultaneously. Given that many of our multinational clients operate in the online and tech spaces, we are routinely involved in taking down online infringements as well.
