BIRO OKTROI ROOSSENO, is one of the oldest and the leading firms for Intellectual Property in Indonesia, was established in 1951 by Prof. Dr. Ir. R. Roosseno, a professor of structural engineering and Mr. Yland, a prominent Dutch lawyer.
BIRO OKTROI ROOSSENO was initiated following Roosseno’s concerns to education on one hand, and also as an encouragement of new inventions and appreciation to creative work of others on the other hand in terms of Intellectual Property. Roosseno was the first to patent his inventions. This is a notable example that encourages more patents through Biro Oktroi Roosseno and in the long run Intellectual Property will be more important than ever. It is also a fact that several Executive IP Consultant of Indonesia once worked for Biro Oktroi Roosseno, making the company stand out and become an honorable pioneer institution.
Prof. Roosseno was succeeded by his daughter, Prof. Dr. Toeti Heraty N. Roosseno, professor in philosophy, a “very senior” and extensive experienced consultant who is one of the most respected IP practitioners in its country. In 1987 Dr. Cita Citrawinda Noerhadi, SH, MIP, improved the management of the firm. She reorganized and expanded it to become one of the leading Intellectual Property firms in Indonesia.
In 1995, Ir. Migni Myriasandra Noerhadi, SH, MIP, MSEL, MM, another daughter of Prof. Dr. Toeti Heraty, continued the management and by whom the firm has standard quality management, while another daughter of Prof. Dr. Toeti Heraty, Dr. Inda Citraninda Noerhadi, SS, MA, co-founder of Indonesian Art Gallery Association (AGSI) and resource person of Indonesian cultural heritage, is also joining the firm until now.
