Sulima, Grabowska, Sierzputowska, Patent and Trademark Attorneys was founded in 1995 and during 26 years of steady growth has become one of the best offices in Poland with a big team of IP practitioners.

In Poland registered IP practitioners are called “patent attorneys” while, due to the scope of their professional training, they are entitled to handle all the IP matters, not only patents.

Our team offers a whole spectrum of IP services before the Polish Patent Office and Polish administrative and civil courts, as well as before the EPO, the EUIPO and the WIPO.

We hold a leading position in filing validations of EP patents in Poland. Our co-operation with a huge group of translators personally trained by us and our unique two-step verification system of technical translations leads to excellent quality of translated texts provided by our office.

We are also famous for the quality of our prosecution work and efficiency in obtaining exclusive rights for our clients.

We have vast practice in handling of SPCs.

We are perfectly prepared to handle any types of IP cases in any conceivable field of technique, i.a. in:

  • Chemical Technology and Engineering
  • Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry and Technology
  • Biotechnology
  • Medical devices
  • Agriculture and Food Technology
  • Oil and Gas Technology and Engineering
  • Mechanical and Civil Engineering
  • Steel and Mining Engineering
  • Automotive, Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering
  • Electrical, Electronic and Informatics Engineering
  • Nanotechnology

We are highly effective in handling litigation cases in opposition, appeal, invalidation, infringement and declaratory proceedings. We strongly believe in alternative dispute resolutions, and thus we offer deep professional analysis of technical and legal aspects of potential disputes aimed at settling them outside of the courtrooms.

We also successfully handle cases connected with customs matters and with protection and enforcement of domain names.

We help with developing IP protection strategies and managing IP portfolios.

We provide comprehensive advices on formal requirements and on complex procedural and legal issues.

We have capacity, experience and infrastructure allowing to smoothly and quickly attend to our clients’ needs and expectations, including processing high volume filing and/or recordal orders.

Our Patent Department has three divisions: Chemical/Biotech, Mechanical/Electrical and Electronic/IT.

Our patent team consists of 15 registered Polish and European patent attorneys and 15 patent specialists supported by a group of 17 paralegals highly qualified and experienced in patent formalities, transfers of rights and handling annuities.

In litigation cases we are aided by attorneys-at-law and excellent Polish experts ready to provide legal or technical expertise.

Our patent team members - Małgorzata Kaczmarczyk and GrażynaWójcik have written a chapter on formal requirements and practice in Poland to the second edition of “European SPCs Unravelled: A Practitioner’s Guide to Supplementary Protection Certificates in Europe” which will be published by Wolters Kluwer.
