Anand & Anand is a clear leader in IP in India. It is regularly involved in high-profile IP disputes in this jurisdiction. Although best known for IP disputes, the firm also has a strong IP filing and prosecution practice. Managing partner Pravin Anand leads a group of nearly 30 partners. Key trade mark contacts include Safir Anand, Revanta Mathur, Madhu Rewari, Swati Sharma, Sandhya Singh, Gautam Razdan, Twinky Ramapal and Achuthan Sreekumar. The key contacts for patent instructions are managing partner Pravin Anand and senior partners Archana Shanker, Nupur Maithani, Arpita Kulshrestha, Vidisha Garg and Neeti Wilson.

The firm acted for Koninklijke Philips in the first SEP decision in India, setting a precedent for future cases to come. In another high-profile case, the firm successfully represented agriculture giant Monsanto against Nuziveedu Seeds before the Supreme Court over its cotton seed patent. In December 2019, Pravin Anand and his team successfully represented Ferid Allani in its challenge against the order of the Intellectual Property Appellate Board rejecting the patentability of its computer-related invention.

In 2018, the firm promoted six to the partnership, appointed two new directors and joined up with Gaggar and Partners, a competition law boutique, to form Anand & Anand & Gaggar. This new initiative will focus exclusively on the interface of IP, technology and competition law. The firm continued to expand with the creation of Anand & Anand & Khimani in Mumbai.
