Gill Jennings & Every (GJE) announced on March 1 2019 that it acquired Beresford Crump. According to the firm's press release, Beresford Crump's team, including Howard Field and Paul Topley, will join the firm. Field and Topley are patent attorneys with experience in technical fields such as mechanics, physics and electronics.

Robert Skone James, GJE's chairman, commented: “As a firm, we are very excited by this move that signifies the next chapter in the growth of GJE. I have great respect for Keith Beresford, who founded the firm many years ago, and am honoured that GJE has been entrusted with his clients’ care. We will work closely with Howard Field and Paul Topley to protect Keith’s legacy, and ensure his loyal staff are welcomed and looked after as they join the GJE team.”

Beresford Crump was established in 2015 after Julian Crump joined forces with Beresford & Co, a firm founded by the late Keith Beresford, a patent attorney who was revered by peers in the fields of software and electronics. Crump left the firm in October 2018, after Beresford's death, to join Abel & Imray as a senior patent attorney.
