As a biotechnology engineer with formal education as an attorney-at-law, Eder provides both technical and legal angles of analysis into practice.
Key contributor in infringement and nullity studies. Active author of articles, and speaker in seminars and roundtables, regarding a range of patent-related matters.
Eder has assisted foreign clients in the prosecution of over 700 Mexican patent applications and over 500 patent applications in Latin American countries, in the fields of pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and chemistry.
Eder has been involved in the technical analysis, as a technical expert and as patent counsel, of patents related to diagnostic test devices, pesticidal products, and therapeutics (both small and large molecules) with therapeutic applications ranging from soft organ oncology, age-related macular degeneration, bacterial gastrointestinal infections, antivirals, and cardiovascular diseases.
He has assisted in establishing biosimilar launching strategies, identifying patent-related obstacles in Mexico and Central and South American countries, and bringing key practical input on the infringement and invalidity perspectives.
Currently, Eder leads the Life Sciences technical team in ClarkeModet México.
