Christoph Engelbrecht has successfully completed his studies in Physics at the Universities of Bayreuth and Heidelberg (Germany). He has taken his Diploma Thesis at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory Heidelberg (EMBL) on the development and characterization of novel fluorescence microscopy techniques for the biosciences. Subsequently, he moved to Switzerland to work on his Doctoral Degree in Physics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich) on the simulation, development, and characterization of various fiber-optic-based technologies for high-resolution brain imaging. During his studies, he carried out several Research Projects at Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ (USA) and at the University of Washington, Seattle, WA (USA).

In November 2010, Christoph Engelbrecht joined E. Blum & Co. AG as Patent Professional. In spring 2014, Christoph took the European Qualifying Examination (EQE) and he was admitted as European Patent Attorney in August 2014 as a “first sitter”. Christoph then successfully completed the Diploma in “Patent Litigation in Europe” at the University of Strasbourg in 2014-2015.

Since then, Christoph provides services to various clients in all fields of patent law, from the discussion of ideas, drafting of patent application for inventions, prosecutions before various Patent Offices, providing opinions on freedom-to-operate up to enforcement or nullity proceedings before the Swiss Federal Patent Court.
