International IP firm Rouse entered the Swedish market in 2019 through its acquisition of IP firm IPQ. The firm strengthened its position in the market by acquiring Valea in 2022.
Valea is a leader in Sweden for patent protection and portfolio management work. Its technical expertise covers chemistry, mechanical engineering, biotechnology and ICT. The firm also has a growing trade mark prosecution practice. Founder and patent star Andrew Hammond was appointed as the firm's CEO in March 2019. Hammond oversees operations in the firm alongside European patent attorneys Lena Hagström, Kristoffer Ogebjer and founding partner Behdad Assadi. Linda Granstrand Füle, Magnus Johansson and Richard Wolff are qualified lawyers.

In 2021, the firm represented a series of patent proprietors in opposition proceedings before the EPO, across transportation and medical science sectors. Attorneys Inna Dahlin, Peter Stern and Malin Boström arrived in 2021. Patent attorney Louise Tottie departed in 2021 and Kristina Axell joined in 2022.
