Ipside, Santarelli and Brevalex publicly announced today that they have merged to form a new firm called Santarelli Group.

Ipside president and European patent attorney Christophe Cornuejols will lead the new firm. Cornuejols will be supported by Luc Santarelli (European patent attorney and managing partner of Santarelli); Eric Augarde (European patent attorney at Brevalex); Eric Le Bihan (European trade mark attorney at Santarelli); and Gwendal Barbaut (lawyer at Ipside Avocat).

Santarelli was shortlisted for two awards in this year’s Managing IP EMEA Awards programme. The firms and a number of their practitioners are ranked for filing and prosecution work in France. Business development director Julie Haller told Managing IP that “all the partners” would remain in the new firm.

Haller added: “This merger represents the largest consolidation of the French IP firms market. The new entity … will have a strong global offer enabling it to be at the forefront of advice for the protection of innovation and more generally of intellectual property.”

Managing IP will monitor this development and make the necessary changes in due course.
