Paul Ramara is a senior Trade Mark Practitioner with BProc and HDip Cyberlaw qualifications from the University of Pretoria. He is an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa. Paul has over 20 years of experience specialising in trade mark and anti-counterfeiting litigation. He has handled significant cases relating to anti-counterfeiting in Southern Africa and East Africa, and has successfully represented clients in a number of litigation cases in Kenya and Zambia. Paul is an integral part of our Africa Anti-Counterfeiting team and has an extensive network across the region including customs officials, anti-counterfeit authorities and investigators. He regularly delivers brand identification training on behalf of our clients across the African continent. Paul played a key role in our anti-counterfeiting efforts in Kenya that resulted in Spoor & Fisher winning the Kenyan Anti-Counterfeit Authority (ACA) ‘Exemplary IP Law Firm in IP Protection 2024’ award. Paul regularly speaks at industry events, such as the ACA’s first International Conference on IP Protection and Enforcement in 2024.
