I am a partner in our Helsinki office and head of our Finnish Intellectual Property Group.
Disputes concerning trademarks, patents and unfair business practices form the core of my practice. Having represented clients in numerous IP infringement and invalidation actions, preliminary injunctions, IP related damages claims and criminal enforcement of IP rights, I have gained valuable experience and insights of all kinds of IP disputes, including those with cross border elements. My litigation expertise also covers trade secrets, marketing, consumer protection, technology transfers and license agreements
On the non-contentious side, I regularly advise in local, EU and international brand protection measures, such as clearance searches, IPR application strategies, oppositions and office actions, co-existence agreements and trademark watching. In addition, I support our clients in developing and implementing IP strategies, and have devised several employee invention policies to innovative companies. During my career of over 10 years, I have had the privilege to work with the most prestigious brands and fascinating technologies from Finland and abroad.
In addition to IP enforcement and protection, I am an experienced negotiator of IP intensive agreements. In this regard, I support our clients' research and development activities, advise on how to acquire or sell technology, brands or other IP assets, and consult in the licensing of industrial data, for example. Additionally, I regularly advise clients from heavily regulated industries, especially from the life sciences, healthcare or food and beverage sectors, on different distribution, reselling and contract manufacturing arrangements as well as on that our clients' marketing campaigns and product launches are done lawfully.
I am an active member of the Finnish IP community, and currently acting as the secretary of the Finnish Association for Industrial Property Rights. I have also served as secretary and board member of the Finnish Anti-Counterfeiting Group. In addition, I regularly lecture on various IP topics.
