Berggren is full-service European IP law firm headquartered in Helsinki, Finland. The firm has about 80 professionals, including 30+ qualified European patent attorneys, 20 EU trademark and design attorneys, 20 IP management and commercialization specialists and more than 50 paralegal and IP specialists.

For more than 80 years Berggren has helped businesses achieve success by assisting them with their intellectual property rights. Berggren provides professional IP services throughout the entire IP life cycle, from initial creation to protection and enforcement, using AI and other state-of-the-art digital services for IP management and client communication. Berggren´s legal team provides professional advice on any aspect of intellectual property, as well as unfair competition, advertising and marketing, commercial agreements, IT law and data protection. Berggren also assist clients in monetizing their IP assets through an in-house IP brokerage service. Thus, unlike many IP firms in Europe, Berggren includes professionals, paralegals and IP specialists working on all aspects of intellectual property.  This structure allows for the formation of specialized teams for various activities, including, for example, in emerging and dynamic legal areas such as Data Protection, Artificial Intelligence, Medtech and 3D printing.

Client success is the primary focus of the firm and we regularly ask for client feedback on our performance through various surveys, including the well-recognized Net Promoter Score (“NPS”) used by many companies and law firms around the world. The historical average score for law firms is between plus 25 and 30. In 2019, Berggren achieved an NPS score of plus 60, which is considered extremely high for entities providing legal services.

In addition, Berggren not only assists clients with their innovation-related activities but the firm itself is innovative having created a proprietary IP management tool called Greip which has recently been spun off from the firm. The Greip tool is now sold to companies and other IP firms.

Berggren services also include an IP brokerage team which is headed by a licensing professional who brings to the firm years of experience from having worked as a director of global licensing at a large Finnish telecommunications company.
