Founded in 1919, Senniger Powers, known by one peer as "old school and specialized," dates back nearly 100 years. Its roster of over 30 attorneys makes the firm the largest specialized IP boutique in Missouri today, where it focuses its practice on the prosecution side of patent, copyright and trademark law. Many of the attorneys have technical degrees, which they use to service clients that include Monsanto Company, Nine West Group, SunEdison, and University of Missouri, among others.
Among the standout names at the firm are Kurt James, Michael Godar and Robert Evans. James heads the firm's mechanical industry practice group and focuses his work on patent prosecution and licensing for clients across the mechanical arts industries. Evans leads the firm's litigation practice, handling many of the firm's most high-profile contentious matters. James, Godar and Evans have each served at different times as past presidents of the Patent and Trademark Section of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis.
