Founded in 1982, King & Schickli is an IP boutique located in the heart of downtown Lexington. The firm handles patent, trademark, and copyright matters for domestic and international clients ranging from individual inventors to large corporations. The firm is responsible for more than 2,500 US patent and trademark registrations, many of which involve chemical compositions, pharmaceuticals, genetic materials, electronics, computers and software, mechanical equipment and technology, and medical devices. Clients include Aramark Corporation, Host Communications, Lucent Technologies, National Wildlife Federation, Owens Corning, and numerous others. Founder Warren Schickli works on behalf of Reese Products and the University of Kentucky Research Foundation, among other clients. Michael Hargis worked as a senior engineer for aerospace manufacturer and defense contractor McDonnell Douglas Corporation for several years prior to joining the firm. Andrew Dorisio serves as an adjunct professor of patent law at the University of Kentucky College of Law, in addition to maintaining a thriving intellectual property practice.
