Trade mark stars and ranking editorials published

The list of highly recommended trade mark practitioners and trade mark firm ranking editorials for IP STARS (2017) have been published online.

Click on the jurisdiction or firm in question to see all the 2017 rankings, trade mark editorials (see ‘Analysis’ tab) and trade mark stars available for that jurisdiction or firm. These were first published in the 2017 IP STARS Handbooks (US and Global Trade Mark & Copyright editions), copies of which were made available at the INTA Annual Meeting in Barcelona and to Managing IP subscribers.

There are two important things to note:
  • The editorial you see under the heading ‘Patent’ is from the 2016 edition of IP STARS; this will be replaced in July with the version in the 2017 Patent Handbook (Global edition).
  • Although the patent stars for 2017 can be found on this website, we will enable the ‘Patent Stars’ tab on the country pages in July, when the book is officially published.
We also published our special annual lists: Top 250 Women in IP and Corporate IP stars. Congratulations to all listed this year.

Methodology

This year’s IP stars lists feature highly recommended practitioners in private practice in over 40 jurisdictions. To produce the list, our team of research analysts surveyed thousands of IP practitioners in private practice and in-house, conducted interviews and vetted the information received for the year’s research through independent desk research. Read more about our methodology here.

The research is impartial and rigorous. No practitioner can pay to be included or solicit recommendations from colleagues or associates. Moreover, self-nominations are not considered and participation in our survey or research does not guarantee listing. Managing IP does not recommend or endorse any particular firm or individual.
