Roeland is a partner at HOYNG ROKH MONEGIER. He practices in all areas of intellectual property law, with a focus on patents. He represents national and international clients before the Unified Patent Court and the Dutch courts, in proceedings about telecommunications, life sciences and mechanics. He was involved in many cases on standard essential patents and developed a particular expertise on FRAND cases.
Roeland’s soft IP practice focuses on product design. In previous years, Roeland litigated cases about the design of inter alia wallets, curtain rails and potato fries.
Besides intellectual property, Roeland also assists clients on matters of advertising law, (IP-related) competition law and commercial contracts.
In 2015, Roeland gained both international and in-house experience outside our firm, when he was seconded to an IP boutique firm in London and a Dutch multinational involved in health technology and consumer electronics.
