With a background in biology and chemistry, I am a German and European patent and trade mark attorney, specialising in life sciences and focusing on litigious patent and utility model cases, based in Munich.
I advise and represent our clients in IP issues in medical chemistry, pharmaceutical, biological, genetic and food technology, as well as medical devices and medical products.
I specialise in adversarial patent and utility model proceedings and represent clients before the European and German Patent Office, the Federal Patent Court and the Federal Supreme Court (in nullity proceedings). I am also frequently consulted in infringement proceedings, including the coordination of proceedings across multiple jurisdictions.
Before joining our firm in 2006, I worked as a patent attorney in a biopharmaceutical company, developing a special understanding of the needs of the industry in terms of IP law.
As a scientist and a patent attorney, I have often spoken at conferences and authored several publications.
I am a member of the German Patent Attorney Chamber, the Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office (EPI), the European Patent Litigators Association (EPLIT), the Association of Intellectual Property Experts (VPP), the Union of European Practitioners in Intellectual Property (UNION-IP), the International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys (FICPI) and the German Life Sciences Association (VBIO).
