Protector IP Consultants is the IP consultancy that puts quality before quantity and long-time business relationships before short term profit. Whether our client is a multinational corporation or an entrepreneur, we strive to provide the best tailor suited service according to the client's needs.

The majority of our clients are domestic, which means that we have broad knowledge of the Norwegian industries and businesses, but since most of our clients also have business interests abroad, we also have extensive comprehension of foreign legal systems.

We are a lean and efficient IPR agency with a total number of 20 persons, who are great in experience and dedication. We work very closely with our clients and aim to find the best and most efficient solutions on our clients' intellectual property needs. We strive to understand the company strategy of our clients and closely link our advices on IPR strategy to this.

An important item of our thinking is that clients shall not pay more than they need to obtain the protection they want. We therefore often advise our clients against taking actions that would cost more than the benefit obtained.

We represent clients not only before the Norwegian Patent Office, but also represent clients in patent applications before the EPO and design and trademark applications before the EUIPO (former OHIM).

In countries where we cannot represent clients directly, we choose among the best attorneys in our network. We strive to have personal knowledge of the agents we use in each country. This ensures high quality work in all foreign prosecution.

Our Clients
Some of the largest Norwegian companies, such as Aker Solutions, Nortura, Bring/Posten and Fred. Olsen & Co., have chosen us as their IP consultant. We also serve smaller companies that are in the forefront of their field, such as Norrøna, Laerdal Medical and Roxar.

Our people
In addition to Tom Tysbo, head of legal department and Christoffer Vedal, chair of the Norwegian Anti Counterfeit Group, both recognized among the World’s Leading Trademark Professionals by WTR 1000, we are proud to have Ida Marie Daae and Thomas Hvammen Nicholson, former examiner with EUIPO among our experienced attorneys.

In the patent field, we have Bjarne G. Coward, who has been recognized by IAM as a master tactician. In addition, we have, among others, the patent strategist and former President of LES Scandinavia, Morten Balle, the experienced litigation assistant and former Reporter General of FICPI's CET commission, Arild Tofting, EPI Board Member and optical measurement specialist, Dag E. Thrane, material technology specialist and former independent inventor, Espen Hov and Tjashwar Singh, who holds a Ph.D. in capacitive sensor interface circuits and was involved in the development of touchscreens. He is an inventor of several patents.

Krister Mindrebøe is working in the electro-technical and mechanical fields, especially within offshore technology. He is particularly focused on assisting companies with monitoring their technological fields, enabling them both to gain insight into their competitors' activities and discover new business partners.

Anne-Gro Bildøe Imset has more than 8 years of experience from the Norwegian Patent Office. She has just completed the program for the European Qualification Exam.
